The WJPS middle school athletic teams are slowly growing by adding on new teams. There are now the sport options of cheerleading, basketball, and making a return for the second year, soccer.
WJPS students from sixth to eighth grade are eligible to try out, all genders allowed. The soccer team’s head coach is WJPS teacher Ms. Smith.
WJPS assistant principal Mr. Yarmy said, “I can’t wait for more sports to come to WJPS and I feel like this is a great opportunity for students to get out of her comfort zone.”
WJPS ninth grade student Kiriako Zournatzoglou said, “The experience was really good because we got to play as a team and experience school soccer and have a good time and the coaches were good and taught us how to play as a team and perform well.”
